Everyone is unique and made in the image of God.

DIVERSITY EQUITY INCLUSION (DEI)

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION STATEMENT

The Central South District acknowledges the diversity in the world:  abilities, age, beliefs, culture, experience, gender, language, race, skills and values.  Everyone is unique and made in the image of God. We welcome the contribution from each individual that enhances our knowledge and understanding of others.  Our commitment is to nurture and support our communities in the progress toward greater health and financial stability, through educational opportunities.

One of the focal areas of the Central South District is social justice advocacy for racial reconciliation.

Initiative Overview: Examination, Equipping, Engagement

Examination:

How well do our current practices aid in breaking through racial and socio-economic bias/discrimination? How well do our current programs address the impact of high crime and violence throughout the city of Houston?

Equipping:

  1. Implicit/Unconscious Bias
  2. Multicultural Interactions
  3. Equity vs Equality promotion
  4. Mental Health Awareness and Certification

  6. ALICE - Sponsored by United Way

Engagement:

There are three (3) types of ministry offerings to help connect with and empower local residents.

  1. Social Support
  2. Built and Physical Environment
  3. Work and Economic Stability
