DISTRICT LEADERSHIP TEAM
The District Leadership Team (DLT) oversees district committees that serve the Laity and the Local Church, such as Congregational Excellence, Missions & Outreach. The DLT assists the D.S. in seeking persons (both clergy and laity) willing to serve on committees that suit their specific gifts and graces. The purpose of the DLT is to facilitate connectivity between the Conference and the local church, acting as a conduit to help the local church achieve their personal goals and help the local church understand the goals of the Conference. Members of the DLT attend the local church charge conferences and ascertain what churches need to help them meet their goals. A key factor in this endeavor is for the DLT to take input from the local church and determine the best training tools to offer that will attain targets, expand knowledge & understanding and empower the laity to be a vital and essential part of the global mission field of the church.
CONGREGATIONAL / LAITY EXCELLENCE TEAM
This team assists in the laity training. They create the training event, organize the event, obtain teachers, secure facilities, coordinate registration and work closely with the district office on catering and expenses involved. This group goes to the DLT for assistance. The chairperson contacts the DLT chair to ascertain what the churches need in the way of training and keeps the DLT chair apprised of the status of training events. This team also helps promote conference level training offered to the laity. As part of this committee, the District Lay Speaker Coordinator utilizes members of this team for Lay Speaking School training.
