We have all come through a very difficult year as a Church. As an Annual Conference, we are looking forward to coming together to worship, fellowship and have our business sessions again virtually to bring Faith Hope and Love to one another.
Each day of the Annual Conference will focus on the Theme: Faith, Hope, Love, bringing everyone together again through Zoom. The three-day virtual event kicks off on Sunday, May 30 with an opening worship, and a message from Bishop Scott J. Jones and our Conference lay leader. Annual Conference will end Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
“The decision to go virtual again was made by our Annual Conference Planning Team and in consultation with the leaders at Houston Methodist Hospital,” said Bishop Scott J. Jones. “An all in-person event would not be responsible,” he said.
To Register for Annual Conference, delegates will be receiving a secure link to the Zoom Session of the 2021 Texas Annual Conference by email around mid-April. Registration will remain open through May 23, 2021.
Only elected delegates (clergy and lay) will be eligible to participate in the Zoom business sessions, which will include the opportunities for live conversation and voting. Again, all eligible delegates will receive an email with instructions and dates for registration around mid-April. Guests and observers are welcome to view Annual Conference 2021 on a YouTube link which will be available at www.txcumc.org each day of the conference.
“We are particularly pleased to announce that we are working on possible opportunities for this year’s 2021 Ordination and Memorial Service for limited family members to attend in person with social distancing,” Jones said. These services will also be live streamed with the YouTube link available at www.txcumc.org 15 minutes before the service begins.
